Default Converting 2002 analog boat to smartcraft

I have 2002 Monterey 282 with all analog gauges and want to put smart craft gauges (Vessel View). My engines are smart craft ready but the outdrives are 2002 Bravo 3. I was wondering what is needed to install Vessel View in them. I talked to several mechanics and get different answers. The remarry question is how to convert analog trim senders to digital. did anyone convert an older boat to digital? Any feedback will be appreciated on what i need to do.

Try bassboatcentral site, good info for us mercury owners. They have sticky’s at the top of the engine forums for Smartcraft and what’s needed. A lot of good info there. Here too, hopefully someone will chime in here.

Thank you for the pointer. I am browsing there but most of the discussion seem to be about outboards.

I did a new Mercruiser/Alpha setup a few years ago and best I can remember the trim sensor was digital and analog. You had to switch the wire from the analog one to the digital one on the connection from the transom harness to the engine harness. They were weather proof barrel connectors and labeled.

I would recommend getting the serial numbers off your engines and outdrives and calling Don at European Marine in Greenville SC. He can tell you exactly what you need.
