Default Dam fuel sensor

As luck would have it, after spending all that money on the Lowrance fuel sensor LMF400 combo I find that it is restricting fuel flow at idle. Straight after fitting the fuel sensor I began to have trouble keeping the engine idling. Anything over 1500rpm the engine would run fine, I guess the fuel pump was doing what it does but at idle it seemed to be starving. If it were a detonation/spark issue it would not run at all and back fire etc. So it seems that the logical solution would be to disconnect the fuel sensor and see what happens. Bingo the engine idles as smooth as silk.

Has anyone else experienced the same??
