Simrad NSS Evo2 versus AP24 auto-pilot
 
The NSS Evo2 comes with auto-pilot capability. Does the AP24 head unit give additional auto-pilot capability?

It gives dedicated 1 and 10 degrees turn buttons, you can turn while in fishing patterns and it shows the distance to the next turn when running fishing patterns.

Abbor thanks, but I really want to understand this better so I will re-phrase. What AP capability does the Evo2 provide and what capability does the AP24 provide. I am trying to determine if there is an advantage to having both or if it's just redundant.

It is not just redundant. there are advantages to having the ap24. namely:

Also..the AP24 has been replaced by the AP44.

And the control knob on the AP44 is very useful.

All of these options are in conjunction with a AC12/42 OR NAC unit, the ap24, ap44, and evo2 display are all means by which you control the ac/nac unit
