what is the difference between a CV23 4 pin and a GT23 8 pin. This is for a garmin echomap plus 64cv on my jetski. . I will use this for a lot of bottom fishing and in less then 250', halibut and lingcod fishing up to 1000' and also tuna fishing in deepwater but only scanning the top 200'. Currently running a GT15m. Thanks

cv transducers are no longer produced by Garmin.
The cv units did not have a dedicated down vu element...so possibly less detail on down scan vs the GT version.
The GT units do have the separate dedicated down element..thus overall ...the GT may have the better results overall for structure under the boat.
You can use the GT23 8 pin with a 4 pin unit by adding the 8 to 4 pin adapter cable: 010-12719-00
