Omar,

We are seeing the issue as well. Garmin is working on the problem as it appears to be on their end.

Kind regards,

It’s a case of passing the buck. The good news is that we do not have to remove and return our units. Now that GARMIN AND siriusXM are aware that something obviously changed, and it wasn’t a software update to blame, they can focus on fixing it. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Nah, they're too busy pointing the finger at one another.

No XM reception icon
No Subscription
No page showing reception of weather features
No way to edit weather menu or change radio channel

Despite this, full weather map with all currently programmed features are displayed, as well as the radio plays the pre-selected channel.

Garmin came back with an RMA for my GXM53. Had to "pay-to-hold" for the refurbished unit to ship out. Will update once replaced to see if that even resolved the issue.

Thanks for the update. Their approach seems inconsistent.

If your GXM 53 or GXM 54 are showing up in the Garmin Marine Network list that's a good sign as it's probably not a hardware issue. People if you are going to post on this thread make sure you at least know that your chartplotter can see the antenna and that your subscription is active and up to date with Sirius. This may also only apply to people running the 16.00 sw version. Could we get people posting what software you chartplotter and GXM antenna are running?

Spoke with Garmin this morning. They reiterated that there is no need to send back the GXM. I advised them that a case number has been posted online and that one individuals was advised by Garmin to send the unit back for service.

He emphatically stated that this information is incorrect, and stated again that Garmin and Sirius are working together and there is no need to return the units.

I just spoke with my dealer who confirmed that this is a known issue and is the result of a coms error between Sirius and Garmin.
The issue is being worked, no ETA on resolution.

Cheers

Went to the boat today with the replacement gxm53 and everything was working correctly!

nothing was done. Powered up and all is back online. Media, satellite, weather..etc.

Didnít have to replace anything. Whatever the glitch was itís working now.

The unit now works. I did not replace it. It was obviously a problem between Garmin and Sirius.

I had the exact symptoms on my gxm53. Worked fine one day, the next it would only play the last station I tuned into. Four days later all was back working as it should be........ thanks Garmin for keeping your customers informed.
