Default Navionics Gold or C-Map?

Neither of thier websites offer any demos where you can get a feel for either of these electronic chart software packages. I've heard that C-Map is better, but the detail for the Bahamas is better with the Navionics. Bahamas coverage is important to me, therefore, I'm leaning towards Navionics.

Anyone have any experience with either Navionics Gold or C-Map? Can anyone confirm the Bahamas coverage is better with the Navionics??

C-Map electronic charts now use the Explorer Charts for the Bahamas. They are a major improvement over the old DMA charts for the region, and customers have been reporting that they are very accurate, and the detail is very good in the Bahamas. If you are going to the Ft. Lauderdale Boat show this month stop by the C-Map exhibit to see for yourself. Check with the vendors here on the board for pricing.

I have both Navionics and C-Map running at the same time in my 27' Contender when I'm offshore. The Navionics I run on a Lowrance 332 and the C-Map on the Furuno Navnet Net 2. The Navionics details are much better and more accurate.

I have a Navnet 2 unit that I switch between C-Map and Navionics. I prefer the c-map. The Navionics is accurate, but not as up to date.
