Default Interfacing GPS/depth sounder

Is there a way to interface a depth sounder with the GPS in such a way that each waypoint or track point is stamped with water depth and water temperature?

I have a Garmin fishfinder 120 (el cheapo) that I would replace with one with a NEMA output. The GPS is a Garmin GPSmap 182.

We have a Garmin 2006C and a lowrance 19XC connected and it does show water depth of track points on the chart.

You can save it with a waypoint on the 182.

If you lowrance has nmea out and exports DBT and MTW, then connect it to 2006's nmea in.

I'd have to look at the wiring, I do not recall wjich wires we connected. I just remember that we recorded our tracks and played them later on the pc and if you put the mouse on any point on the track it would show the depth.

I have the Garmin GPSMAP 162 and the Garmin 240 Blue. Water depth is sent from the 240 to the 162 and it shows up if you save a waypoint, or a track.
