Default LowranceNet Compatibility with Yamaha

Has anyone successfully connected their Yamaha engine to the LowranceNet? I am going to be adding a 111CHD and was looking at the LMF 400 gauges, but have only seen them connected to the ETecs. I have twin 2006 F150s.

Lowrance says they don't know if it will work, but if it is NMEA 2000 compatible it should.

Yamaha says it is NMEA 2000 compatible (they have their command link system), but don't know what it will work with. They indicated it depended on the connectors with each system.

I would prefer not to "reinvent the wheel" trying to figure out if it will work, especially if someone has already done the legwork before me.

I thank you in advance for your information.

reel,

As of right now, Command link will not interface NEMA 2000 wise with any brand of marine electronics. It is true that CL uses NEMA 2000, but the wiring and connectors are not yet available. They will be in the future.

There is no wiring diagrams available to try and figure it out for yourself.

I did find out that Yamaha will be going with the electronic engine controls in the near future. Throttle and shift by wire. Starting with the larger hp engines.

If it's nmea 2000, couldnt some splices be made to get the connections working? You'd think a phone call to yamaha can get the codes for the different wires (?).

I have the Yamaha network cables in my hand that are from Lowrance for my LCX-111.

I am waiting for my boat to be finished to hook the cables up. You don't need to splice. The best bet would be to get them from an OEM dealer for Lowrance such as Skeeter,Bluewater Boats, Dusky....ect.

I will be installing 4 LMF-400 gauges, 2 LMF-200 gauges, an LCX-111, LRA-2000 (radar) along with EP-35 temp sensor, and yes the engine comunication cables for my Yamie's.

The connector you want are at Lowrance you just have to go through a chain of commands to get them now. They'll be easier to get when they get imput into the system.
