These are 2 completely different machines. I have put the FCV600L on three boats. I love them. Excellent infinite zoom feature. We dive a lot and you can set a 15' zoom screen in 100' of water and find crumbles of rocks.

the 600L is a great machine, i've been extremely impressed & happy w/mine, but it has been outdated by the 620...the only reason to go w/the 600L would be to save some money by buying a 600L used/closeout for significantly less than the price of a 620 in my opinion. i agree w/you that when it comes to sounders furuno makes the best.

I just replaced my Furuno 600 with the new 620. If you got the bucks, go with the new 620. The unit is awesome. The 600 was a great unit but hard to see ( in the sunlight) if you flushmount on your console. I had it installed on my old boat in an electronics box just below the t-top (no sunlight glare). My new boat the unit was flushmounted in the console and it was tough to see in bright sunlight. I'll probably sell my old 600 for around $300 but I wouldn't sell it to anyone who was going to flushmount it. Good luck.
