Default Upgrading my GPS/Fishfinder

I would love some help on where to find discount electronics. I want to upgrade my 6" Lowrance Screens to the new color 81/2 or the 11 1/2" screen. Anyone have any good ideas or want to sell theirs?

Default RE: Upgrading my GPS/Fishfinder

My partner informed me today that our Garmin GPS map/fishfinder DISPLAY SCREEN has gone kapput! (black and white model). I assume we will need to replace this unit, unless Garmin comes thru on their out-of-warranty service. I am hoping that they will make good on their product, even though it is around 3 yrs old. However, due to a near identical problem with a 3 year old Garmin handheld unit, I am not optimistic about this. The repair price was too high for it to be practical. Given all this, if we are forced to replace the unit, do you guys know who has the most reliable units and best warranty? We don't need anything too exotic, as we just do inshore and bay fishing off of Texas and Louisiana. I hate paying good money for things that won't hold up, even under the best service conditions. As always, I appreciate yall's help. It has been very valuable to me since becoming a boat owner.

Good buys on the Lowrance units, since a new series is comming out the first of the year-and the 10" screens are in the $1200 range--see the recent posts.
