Default Transferring Navionics App Waypoints to Homeport

I have some waypoints I've saved on my Navionics account that I'd like to get into Homeport as part of a broader consolidation of waypoints. I have created the .gpx file and sent it to my email from Navionics. However, when I try to import it into Homeport it says the file type is invalid. What steps do I need to take to fix this? Next try once I get a new SD card in the mail is put them on my 1242 and then re-export and see if that works but if not I'm at an impasse. Any feedback appreciated.

Nevermind, I figured out that part at least. You select the waypoints in the Garmin Boating app (formerly the navionics app), export the GPX file. It gives you the option of putting them in ActiveCaptain if you have that installed on your device. It's an easy import from there to ActiveCaptain, which is synced up to my chartplotter. Don't think I need the computer in that case. Pretty easy just not clear anywhere how to do it.
