Default lowrance lmf200 update

after numerous e-mails to lowrance customer service with no reply I will post the same question here.
Is there any way that you can get the lmf200 to read in litres instead of gallons?

press the MENU button.
press the UP button to scroll up to SYSTEM SETUP.
scroll to UNITS, and press MENU(enter).
scroll to VOLUME, press MENU(enter).
you should see liters.
scroll to it and press MENU(enter).

that outta get you there.

Hope it works. If not, recommend calling Lowrance rather than writing. From what I read -- and my few encounters with them -- they are better on the phone. Good luck.

Download the LMF-200 manual from Lowrance here: http://www.lowrance.com/Manuals/File...361_071205.pdf

Lowrance's phone support doesn't seem to know very much about the NMEA 2000 stuff. E-mail support has generally been "less worse" but it's nowhere near speedy.

I just fitted the LMF400 and changed to settings to liters with no problem. I am 99% sure gotsalt is on the money. I can't remember exactly what I did, but you defiantly can.

Ok I do have the manual thanks for the link anyway.
I have found the menu to change the units and "volume" is not listed, everything else is. ie: speed ,temp, gps , pressure ect but no volume!!!

My lmf200 software version is 1.0.0 funny how the lmf 400 will do it .Any one out there have a lmf200 to see if this is true?

Oh and, still no reply from lowrance customer support !!

I finally recieved a responce e-mail from Lowrance and here is what it said

"No, the LMF-200 will only read in gallons. This may be changed in the
future with the release of a product update."

I wonder why the lmf400 can do it? And how would you update this unit?

The gauge would be updated via some other unit on the network that has support for a memory card - like a chartplotter. It's really strange that the 200 doesn't have the same features as the 400.

So if this is a stand alone gauge, I am s.o.l. on the update ? I cannot believe that this gauge can do almost anything but display simple liters. Bad on the enginners at lowrance.

Could it have something to do with the network??

How can some people say that theirs reads in liters and an official responce from Lowrance say that it will not and are working on it????

If and how and what version of the software are the ones that can read in liters?

did the help line person seem to have a strange accent.....

only way to update software version is via a control device--like a head unit, or your local marine electronic specialty store can do it (NOT west marine) boe 'might' be able to.

Yes, you need to update via a networked unit which has a memory card slot (ie a GPS unit). Otherwise send it back to Lowrance for the software update.

As to why Lowrance themselves didn't know this.. perhaps the work experience kid answered the phone.

Thanks guys

Lowrance support did not come from a phone call ,it was a support e-mail??

And Where would I get the update from? I looked at Lowrance's web site under software -product updates and it does not list the lmf200 or even the lmf 400?
