Default XM Satellite Weather Sea Surface Temperature

Overall I like my new XM Satellite weather service, but for my first offshore trip in the new boat, I noted that the temperatures displayed by XM, were about 4-5 degrees higher than readings from my transducer (located only about 1.5 feet from the actual surface.

Has anyone else noted a large discrepancy in transducer measured temperature and XM Sea Surface Temperatures?

Have you calibrated your FF temperature. Buy a cheap digital or pool thermometer. The the next time you go outcompare the readings off the thermometer to the FF.My new Furuno 620 was4.0 degrees off.
