Default Raymarine A65

I installed an A65 in my 21 and when it is on the trailer it works great. As soon as it hits the water it keeps shutting down and restarting. I had a friend look at it and he suggested that it was not getting enough juice from the batteries. 2-500 CCA’s. With the HPDI’s he said I needed more. Just switched out the Batteries to 850/1000’s and still having the same problems. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for the help.

I have one, it was doing the same, did the update and it cleared all the bugs. It seems in their rush to get the unit to market they had not worked all the bugs out....the update will. Only problem I had after that was the unit shutting off when I started the motor up. Seems starting the motor dropped voltage below 10volts and not enough to keep unit started up (no problem with the unit). My electronics guy added some 12V to 12v thingy majig and not a problem since.

By the way, get the update from their website or your dealer.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out the site for updates. Mine is turning of at start too. Will have to check with my service dealer for the 12v to 12v suggestion.

I pulled a dedicated wire from the battery switch, took care of the shutting down while starting, the upgrade took care of the rest.
