Default Opinions on Lowrance LCX 111 CHD

Boater's World has reduced them to $1299. This is without transducer.

The 111hd is being replace with the 113 in January. The new 113 will do XM Weather as well as having a TRUE cat 5 network. I would wait

Thanks for the info. After reading your post, I logged onto Boaters World and bought one myself.... I have the LCX-25c and love it, but have wanted the bigger screen.

Just so you know, that item number (117-67) DOES include the 200 kHz transducer and LGC-2000 GPS antenna.... That's a heck of a price for sure. Even on eBay they're $2000.00....

Hmm. Been looking at the 26HD for $1299.
May have to reconsider.
Thanks for the tip.

AHHHH!!!! I JUST bought a garmin 2210c and a furuno 620 for what I thought was a great deal at $2300. We had a lcx-104c in the scout and loved it. I was going to get the 111chd for the contender but thought for $300 more I would do better with the garmin and the furuno. They are worth $300 more but not $1000!
That is a GREAT DEAL buy it quickly before the supply runs out.

Does the 111HD have an internal or external antenna?

Bought it at $1299 and found a new Airmar 744 triducer on Ebay for $179. I'll try to get $50 or 75 for the transom mount skimmer that comes with it.

Hot Rod... you are the MAN!

Been looking to upgrade and this was what I wanted. Was on my buddy's boat this past weekend. He has the 26 hd and I loved the unit. Just ordered it!

Thanks for a great lead Hot Rod. You are the man! I ordered one today for the Dusky. Got an extra 10 bucks off by using Google payments to pay. BW is selling the LCX-111HD for about what the LCX-25 sells for. Sure seems like a great deal to me even if a new model is coming next year. Didn't see anybody else pricing it this low, and it has a return policy of 30 days.

Ordered it yesterday, got it today! They FedEx it for free. Going to install this weekend (god knows I won't be fishing in the predicted 45 mph winds they are calling for). Thank again HR.

I recently installed the Airmar B-744L thru hull on my transom instead and it works much better than expected (in lieu of a plastic skimmer transducer). Can see to 1500' at 25 mph with a 600 rms LMS 337C. Now I have to think about upgrading to the 1k, 10" screen of the LCX-111CHD.

Thanks alot for making my boating life decisions more difficult.

HH

I currently have the lcx 19 and love it, even though I have been through the Lowrance customer service before. But with my eyes getting worse every year, I decided that I too could not pass on this great bargain. I called and got the x111hd with the dual transducer for 1299. I did ask over and over that this unit came with the transducer, they had one model that had a 200 khz and the model that I ordered with the dual transducer for the same price. The guy did say that there were only a few left and that they would most likely be sold out next time I called.

Yeah, I should receive mine with the dual frequency transducer today...

The two Boaters World model #'s are:

319392908 - This one just has the 200 kHz transducer.

and

319392775 - This one has the dual frequency transducer.

After I ordered the 200 kHz one, I had to call to confirm my order, and they allowed me to change it to the dual frequency model... My order is "On the truck for delivery" so I should receve it in the next few hours. I'll post back to confirm it is the correct model... If it is, I'm amazed at how cheap Boaters World cleared these out.... You can't get this same model on eBay for under $2000.... Pretty cool.

I got a ship notification from Google payments yesterday, and my wife says a big box with Boatersworld on it showed up today. That's really fast. I'm away from home, but looking forward to opening it!

Well, I guess this is what I get for sticking up for Lowrance... I was shipped a defective unit. It would power up, but nothing would come on the screen. Called tech support for Lowrance (about a 2 minute hold) and they said I could return it to them and they would fix it within a week. I opted to send it back to boaters world for a refund. I ordered another one from boaters world that should be here Tuesday... Talk about bad luck!

Question: I also just bought one of these units. Is there any reason why I would, or would not, want to try and get the dual frequency transducer over the single 200 khz ? I wouldnt ever be needing to mark fish in water over 100'. I opted for the single frequency 200 khz because I think it has a wider cone angle (20 deg) than the 200 khz of the dual frequency.
