Default Upgrade questions

I am considering upgrading the electronics in my 29 Regulator in the next year or two, either in a rolling fashion or in one fell swoop. The boat currently has Furuno VX2s with open array radar and pocket mounted Airmar B260 (I believe) run through a DDF1. I am thinking of going to Garmin as I already have a 7608 as a backup chart plotter and as a side scan unit / CHIRP for the boat. I have a few questions as I think through it.

1. I think I can get an adapter to run use the existing Furuno B260 with a Garmin unit. Is this in fact true? Should I expect comparable performance using an XSV Garmin unit without an external box as I would running the current DFF1 + VX2 setup as I currently have? For reference, I can mark down to ~1700 ft at the 50 frequency.

2. I realize I値l need one XSV unit, but what should the other paired unit be since they値l all be networked in? Should I go with the 7600 or 8600 series? The plan is not to have a bunch of bells and whistles but ultimately open array radar and 50/200 sonar plus chartplotter. Might add sat weather or such, but both series accept. Will network in to a Garmin inreach and to my DF300 engines, but again both series will handle fine. I知 leaning towards the 7600 series given my use case.

3. I値l have two seperate transducer systems. The sidescan transom mounted one to the 7608 and the thru hull to the new XSV unit. If all networked, I値l be able to pick and choose what signal I see where no matter what, correct?

Thank you
