Default Replacing Trailer bulbs w/LED bulbs??

Is there a place where I can purchase replacement bulbs for my trailer that are LED?? Or does the lighting system on the trailer have to be re-trofitted in order to accomodate for LED bulbs??

LED lights are sealed...you will need to replace the entire light assembly.

However, its not a big project. Remove the old lights and cut the wires. Use the heat shrink butt connectors to connect the wiring from the new lights and bolt them on. Everything is color coded (Brown to Brown, Yellow to Yellow, Green to Green).

What your asking can be done, but you will not gain anything except lower amperage draw. The rusting socket's will still be a problem.

Do as Parthery said with a epoxy sealed LED light.

I'm not having a problem with anything rusting on my trailer as I can submerge my lights at this point. Just trying to go to a bulb that is less likely to burn out as quickly. These same bulbs that are used on my trailer can also be used on my navigation lights on the boat. Just trying to replace them with LED type bulbs.

Figured someone made replacement bulbs that were LED's instead of filament.

I think www.superbrightleds.com has replacement bulbs. Just looked at their site, think you will find all you need there.

They will not interchange. A Tail/Stop bulb is a 1157. [staggered pin dual element]

The bulb's for my Port/Stb light's on my boat are 1142 [stright pin's, dual contact, single element]

I have replaced the bulb's on the boat with the 1142 LED's.
