Angry NMEA Standard Horizon AIS DSC VHF to GARMIN 7612

NMEA 0183 wires and colors? Don't know why it cant all be NMEA 2000 and be easy.
SH Manual says
Gray = DSC output (+)
Brown= DCS output (-)
yellow= AIS output (+)
white= AIS output (-)

Garmin manual says
Blue= Tx1
Brown = Rx1
Gray= Tx2
Violet = Rx2

So since they use different NMEA 0183 standard language what wire goes to what?

Your designation does not match the following from Garmin

https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webh...7B1E0B4FB.html

Looking at the Garmin Wiring diagram it appears that only + signals are used

https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/gpsmap7400-7600/install/EN-US/GUID-702698A3-DCC1-4D81-AEE7-DB5180E026FF.html

SH Gray - > Garmin Brown

SH Yellow - > Violet

AIS is probably high speed baud rate 38,400
DSC is 4800 baud rate

Garmin can probably only accept one baud rate... or SH might have both DSC/AIS on the high speed.

From the first link (that works) on the Left side of page click on "NMEA 0183 Connection Considerations". Then click on the link for "NMEA Connection Diagram"

So i wired it up this way and per my Garmin 7612 I am only receiving 1 sentence of data. I don't know if there has to actually be some "action" going on for the VHF to send AIS and or DSC data. Also in the garmin format page there is an option to receive 3 or 4 digit data? Nothing in the manuals about this either.

So I just saw my first AIS track on my garmin. After my 4th reconfigure of this wiring connection. Slightly different from what BWP posted above but I can confirm it is working.
