Default Musements replacing Evo2's

Picked up my dual Evo2 7's fall of 2014 which unfortunately was same time my eyesight began to deteriorate. I also have a different setup with the units installed on a 18' tiller boat that don't sit directly in front of me. Well, finally had enough of the Evo's small font and no configuration of Overlay data (like Lowrance, even my older 15MT's). Checking out the Live 7 units, the screen height is even smaller though with better resolution; overlay data is extremely helpful. But can only cram so much into a smaller screen. So jumped up playing with Live 9's, but pricing...

After using my friend's Carbon 12s for last couple years and spending hours playing with the new Live units, that damn control knob on the Evo for me is a dream. The control pad is slower and requires pushing a second button to activate. I've gotten better running friends boat but when running nearly identical s/w, menu selection is keeping me with current setup for rest of this year. Not sure if it is just my units, but the touch operation is slightly better than the Carbon/Live units I've tried. Speed is our second major attribute to fishing behind lure depth control. It is so nice to glance back at the Carbons and see a gigantic SOG speed overlaid.

Two other major influencing notes staying with Evo2 rest of year is the color palette selection along with Fish Reveal and cost of new 9" units. For dual 9s pricing, gonna wait to see if it is worth waiting for Evo4.

Can I please get hope that Simrad releases Evo4 7 or 9 with:
  1. Separate waypoint button (vs. menu selection only)
  2. Overlay data control/configuration
  3. Fix small font and oversized icons (even with glasses have to be close to read accurate depth of fish marks)
  4. Keep the knob interface
  5. Reverse direction of super wide screens, losing depth resolution and harder to track course up
Not asking for much. If the Evo4 falls short any of the first 3, back to Lowrance I go. Performance wise with HDI trans, walleye/steelhead fishing around the Great Lakes been awesome. Thx for letting me ramble.
