Repost of eariler comparison between Ray DS500 & Furuno 620.

I've had my installed for 2 months and am very happy with the unit. I fish in saltwater offshore up to 2500'. The unit has performed flawlessly. I can mark fish and bottom at 35 mph in 400' of water. I havethetransom mounted transducer.

Furuno -vs- Raymarine FF

Others ........

The non transparent windowingfeature is one of the 585/620 display short falls. The Ray DS series transparent data display functioanlity is much more robust than the Furuno units. The ray DS series color display is much crisper and brighter than them too.

Goods .......The Furunos user functionality is easy to use and understand (select the mode you want on the front of the unit)The swevil/tilt base is terrific that gives you more viewing options than the Ray DS series (they inly tilt)

The sonar returns are equal in strength and quality between the 2 manufactures.

you can't go wrong with either unit.

Here's what the my helm area acutally looks like. I fish a 21' dual consoleWhaler. The other pics are underway shots.
