Default With skiing season fast approaching....

....what do you do to tune up the thighs? Do you do isometrics or leg crunches? Or do you just go with the flow and wing it?

I snowboard, but mostly the same muscles, although back and shoulders are used a bit more. I like to do a lot of dynamic squats (weighted, body weight, thrusters, etc) and lunges (front, back, side, curtsy). I suppose isometrics like plank and wall sit would be helpful too. I also do some rotational work like medicine ball throws and cable woodchops. These also help with the other sports I usually do. Once I get on the mountain, I have found that hydration is the biggest factor. What is a leg crunch?

Edit: forgot to add that I also like to do plyometric work like box jumps, ladder drills, sprints, etc

I call leg crunches when I do isometrics and deep knee bends. I will squat to between 160° angle and a 45 and go up and down slowly until my legs feel like they are going to give out on me. But I like your routine, I could see that really strengthening the core..
