Default Can't wait...Bluewater Repower

Original Post was questions regarding things I wanted to do while the boat was in the shop. It's much easier to call and talk to Steve directly to get information, so I recommend going that route.

Figured I'd change the post to a before and after. Steve gave me the best price on the Suzukis and also gave me a great price on new steering and engine covers.

2002 Bluewater 2550 is in the shop right now. Hopefully be getting it back any day now as I dropped it off a couple weeks ago. Anxiously waiting for the phone call or email letting me know it's ready.

Here is a before picture, and a picture without the old ox66s....next picture will be with 2018 Suzuki DF200s.

Hey guys, hope you have full power back soon! Thanks for the update on my boat, Brian...I understand some things are out of your control over there!

Hey danmanswag, can you post some performance numbers with the Suzuki 200s? I was looking at a Bluewater with 175s and want to compare the real world numbers.

I wish I could...boat is still at IM. I was told last week that the motors hadn't arrived yet. Mike called me on Friday and said they were coming in this week 100% but nothing yet, so we'll see. I'm praying they finally arrive, boat has been there since August 17th. I'm dying over here!

Finally got her back. 2018 motors, they put everything on new laser cut panels, welded some new rod holders to my leaning post and also added a couple subs and another amp.

Couple things before I post them....I'm in break-in period, but just about done. The props I ordered are on backorder from Suzuki, so I'm using less-than-optimal props until they come in. Right now I have 4x15 1/4x22L....I need 24p

Hey Danmanswag,
How is the aft waterline sitting with those new engines? Any issues with water ingress throught the scuppers?
I am considering a 2006 2550 that needs a repower but have some doubts as the boat would spend time on a mooring with some pretty rough conditions.

So with the 24p 4blade props...here is the performance.

- 30mph , 2.5mpg
- 37mph, 2.2mpg
- top speed is around 50

I'm sticking with this for now. My hole shot is excellent, almost like I havent missed a beat from the ox66 hole shot. Top end I'm down a little because of the 4 blade. I'm not willing to sacrifice my hole shot at the moment. I'm always running heavy and fishing.

I dont have any issues to be honest. Everybody was scaring me prior to my purchase. The boat sits a tiny bit lower, but its really not an issue at all. I usually have over 1/2 tank of gas (usually 3/4 or full) and always have a heavy load since I fish 95% of the time. Bottom fishing, kite fishing, trolling...no issues. Maybe I get a little more water than I'd like when I have 4 guys standing in the back when bottom fishing and we have the livewell full, to go along with a full tank of fuel and a ton of gear.

So far, no issues with the 200 Suzukis and weight. The 2006 might have the newer brackets as mine is a 2002...if so, even less of an issue.

Very decent numbers especially loaded for fishing. I'm in the same situation as you. Running Powertech 22" OFS4's and getting same mileage and speeds as you. I'm maxing out at 6000 rpms and 49 mph, could go faster with 3 blades but hole shot great and boat rides flatter with the 4 blades so I'm not switching. Just out of curiosity, what's your max rpms with the 24" props?

I can max out. The top end numbers were at 6100, but I can hit the alarm if i kept going.
