I have Navionics Platimum plus charts on the card in my GO9 in one of the card slots and it works really well. I tried a blank 64mb MicroSD card in the other slot to record onto but the unit doesn't seem to regognise it. Does anyone know if the MicroSD cards have to be formatted in a particular way or if there is a maximum regognise able size for the card?

You will need to use a smaller card for it to be recognized.

Try reformatting the SD card to NTFS.

Default Big box outdoors mega store

Taking advice from this forum but being nudged towards the Garmin line of electronics. The sales techs say its because i get the maps with the Garmin not the Simrad.
I think I want to go with the Go9 Xse regardless. Its
packaged with a transom mount transducer. So please help with my other issue. I want a through hull transducer. What do I buy? Can I mix and match products when purchased separately?

You can go with the Totalscan thruhull transducer and still maintain the side and structurescan as well as medium and high frequency Chirp.

Default Okay but

Simrad makes the Totalscan? Are they packaged together or bought separately?

Once you go past the base level of transducers they are not bundled together. Yes, you are correct that is made by navico which is Simrad
