Brian- In the specs Simrad lists Ethernet and radar compatibility for the GO9XSE. Isn't that Ethernet by definition " Ethernet networking" , and likely to network with EVO2 's?

" The new GO9XSE adds even more capabilities to this affordable product line with radar and Ethernet, entertainment and the innovative TripIntel trip computer functionality, all in a stylish package."

The NSS Evo 2 will still be a lot easier to use on a bouncing boat, but that GO9XSE has fantastic features for the low price point.

I'd sure love to hear about potential upgradability of the GO7XSE ( very max size which barely fit on my tower console) to have radar and Ethernet capabilities the lower station NSS E2's enjoy.

Edit: It has no Ethernet.

It has a radar port , it's not shown to have networking capabilities at least at this point!
The entertainment portion is via n2k

Ok thanks for the information. And please keep us posted if you do confirm (one way or another) that this unit is equipped with an Ethernet port and a radar port- or not.

I was going to get another go7,but now I'll probably pick up one of these. Love the Go7, with a bigger screen and more features I dont think you could go wrong.

Right you are of course , Brian . The Simrad-yachting website confirms radar can be plug & play but does not include any mention of Ethernet in spite of that apparently erroneous earlier release. NMEA 2K only/1 port .

It also says the 9 will have 2 microSD card slots rather than the single slot on the 5 & 7's.

$1300 for the GO9XSE , Navionics+ chart card ( w/ Navionics Auto-routing) and TotalScan T/M T/D bundle .
Add just $400 to that to also include the slick 4G radome. ($1700 bundle)

Brian, do you know when Simrad will have an adapter cable available so the GO series cna be connected to a proper Airmar CHIRP transducer?

And also, there were strong runours a while ago, indeed there were specs and details around, of the new Airmar TM 600w chirp/dowscan transducer - but it all seems to have gone quiet on that front? Any news/info on that? Is it a no-go or just delayed?

I have replaced one of my old HDS5 (gen 1) with a GO7exe/totalscan and would really like to replace the second one and be able to use it with that CHIRP transducer! Ive got an alloy boat so the bronze TH model is impossible.

For those that were asking yes you can do radar overlay. I will have video of the unit in operation today for your viewing pleasure.

Would like to correct this comment according to sim rads website that package is not 1700 but 2700

I have a lowrance Gen 1 broadband radar hooked to a HD8 Gen1. can I use my radar with the go9?

Also with the Simrad NSo wired remote work with it. A boat I work on has the remote with a NSS evo2 12" and I love it.

I had the opportunity to put my hands on this unit and was impressed. This is a great addition to the Simrad line up. The ability to have radar on these is a great selling point. In the event you do not want radar you can use weather if you like.

I dont see the sharing of sonar and radar to be a huge issue. In real life you can have navigation on the primary display and the sonar and radar on the additional display.

Lastly: These will have dual card slots that will reside in the rear of the unit.

Brian - I am interested in one of these for a new boat. all freshwater fishing with depths down to about 200ft. Would like maps with contour lines (Navionics seems to have what I need) and a good transducer.

Would you recommend the bundle mentioned above ($1300), or would I be better off with a different transducer and maps?

Will the Navionics Gold or Platinum card work with this unit?
