Default Autotether - "No install" wireless engine cut off system

Autotether is the industry’s only “no install” wireless engine cut off system. It connects directly to your boat’s existing kill switch and instantly cuts the boat’s engine when the operator falls overboard. The base system includes a wireless host unit which connects to your boat’s existing kill switch and a compact remote Operator Sensor that is worn by the boat operator. Additional Passenger Sensors can be added to sound an alarm if a passenger falls overboard. Since it is wireless it allows complete freedom of movement on board while still fully protected all occupants from overboard situations.

Its not the only one. Fell Marine makes MOB ststem thats very similar. It costs about $100 less also.

The kicker here is that no installation is required. You just unclip your kill cord and snap this one on. If you go overboard, it yanks itself out.

Just to clarify. Autotether is the industry's only engine cut off system that connects directly to your boat's existing kill switch so absolutely no installation is required. The list price is $235

Do you have a video anywhere that shows this product in action? I'd like to come to a better understanding of the way it works.

Thanks!

Tested mine last week before leaving the dock, and the plunger didn't push it off the kill switch even when alarm went off. Guessing plunger was corroded. 2 years old.

Luckily, I had a spare new autotether in my truck. Installed it in about 2 minutes, and went off fishing. I will be replacing mine with a new unit every 1 or 1.5 years going forward, to avoid the above corrosion issue. I'm on my third one at this point. Fish alone often in the salt. Great product when its working.

in theory it is a great product
I have had both the autotether and the fell unit

auto is easier to install and it works great when new. but it eats batteries and if you get a couple of years before corrosion sets in you are doing good.
Fell is harder to install, but it is much better in quality and it will last longer
I do not mean to bash auto and it has it place, but the fell is a real piece of safety equipment and I think the customer service is better

A reason I like autotether is that if there is a malfunction offshore, or in an inlet, it's an easy fix to get the engines going again quickly in seconds. Thoughts on that, vs. Fell?

If you ever have an issue please contact us immediately. We do our best to remedy the situation. You should not need to replace the unit that often if it is cared for properly (batteries changed, etc). Contact us at info@autotether.com if you ever have any questions

Also want to mention we have made some improvements to the product and I think you'll find we have made customer service a top priority under the new management. We value our existing customer and work hard to provide the best service possible

I have only had mine for about 2 years went to put new batteries in last week and the case is crumbling apart. Never left on boat or in the sun. Hopefully the new design doesn’t have same problem.

with fell it does it automatically after six seconds
if it is a more serious issue you can simply by pass it on the back via the supplied quick connect
