Default Break even boating with boatsetter

Everything is a part of the sharing economy, including your boat. By listing your boat for rent on boatsetter's website you can offset the cost of boating.
Boatsetter connects owners, renters and licensed USCG captains all through their site and mobile app. Insurance is included in every rental. You as the owner get to vet each renter to make sure they are qualified to be at the wheel.
Instead of busting out another thousand, why not bring on another thousand.

Who covers the damage? Who's liable in case of injury or perhaps death? Inquiring minds would like to know!

"... boating coast $0."

MAJOR typo in the main ad. Might wanna comb through the insurance policy with a fine tooth comb if that's how sloppy their marketing message is to the mainstream public.

12 warm weekends a year in the northeast and a renter takes out a lower unit on the first weekend...bye bye summer

I'd be more likely to let someone borrow my wife or girlfriend than my boat. No Thanks.

Whoever thought this up is not a boat owner.

Even from the other side of the equation there are issues with this.

I sold my boat and will be boatless this year. I do not trust renting a boat from a random schmuck because I do not know how much deferred maintenance they have on their boat.

Just as dumb as renting out your "unused" car to people online.

Have fun pulling your pride and joy off the bottom of the bay or ocean.

Same thing with RV's. These guys are obviously trying to capitalize on the "sharing economy" wonder how many boat owners will sign up.

Guys, why all the flaming. It probably doesn't apply to 99% of boating enthusiasts who care about their boats. Just like you're not going to put your prized corvette clasic on Turo. There is definitely a base that will use this. If you don't like the model, just don't use it. Some people don't use their boat often or don't care much about it and will likely want to try and recoup some of their annual costs for the couple weekends a year they boat.

just look at the dock the boat is at. Completely exposed stern to, no pilings to tie off to keep boat off dock and no cleats on dock. They make money no matter what as owner an insurance pay if damages occur.

LOL, some of you are hilarious.

It's an ADVERTISING image, and you think they are going to be doing instructions on how to build docks properly and how to tie off at docks? Next time Home Depot does an ad online I'm going to critique every piece of the image as to why that person isn't actually building what he says hes building.

boatsetter can’t get enough boats to rent. Demand is out stripping supply. They can’t figure out why boat owners won’t add boats to their fleet then they pitch boat owners in a way that repulses them. They make money on rentals nothing else so they need boats to increase revenue if something happens they don’t care boat has policy through GEICO so what do they care. So why not put together a meaningful successful marketing campaign?
