Default Cleansing Bilge Tablets - 20% off for THT members

Hello THT subscribers!
We are new here on THT so I will introduce myself.

I am Dean Crenshaw and I am the founder of Crenshaw Marine LLC. I have an Associates
Degree in Applied Science of Marine Technology and I am also a USCG licensed captain (50
ton master). I have been around boats all my life. I was lucky enough to live on my dad's 1971
36’ Trojan Tri-Cabin the last 2 years of high school, all through college, and the first year of my
career of being a hydrographic surveyor (about 5 years total). Cleaning the bilge seemed to
always be so dreadful but it had to be done just about every month. If this didn’t happen,
well...the boat would smell like ______, I’ll let you fill in the blank. We thought, if only there was
a tablet that we could add every month that would just maintain the raw water in the bilge,
keeping it clean and smelling nice, it would make life a lot easier. I was surprised to see that
there were no bilge tablets on the market. We knew better not to use any chlorine tablets as that
could corrode just about everything important in the bilge.

I decided this was a great opportunity. I have tried many different methods and have seen what
has worked and what hasn’t. I have a manufacturer that creates my tablets for me with the exact
components I ask for.

My key components when creating the tablet:

1. It needs to be environmentally friendly.
2. It needs to be safe when interacting with any metals, fiberglass, rubber, or plastic.
3. It needs to break down existing crud.
4. It needs to eat bacteria in order for the smell to go away.

Therefore; the Cleansing Bilge Tablet does not have any harsh chemicals. It has descaling
agents to break down any existing crud build up. It has preventative components to eat any
bacteria from raw water.

Instructions:
Simply drop the required amount of tablets in the bilge once a month and you're
done!

Use 1 tablet per 10' of boat length. Drop the tablets into the bilge water. If bilge is dry, add a
small amount of water to submerge tablets. Repeat once a month of as often as necessary to
maintain a clean and odor-free bilge.

Hey aquaholic23,

One tablet is 0.8 ounces (L 1 3/8" x W 1" x H 1/2"). The dissolve time is 20 minutes. This may seem fairly short but the dissolved matter remains in the bilge anywhere from 2 weeks - 1 month depending on how much water seepage you have / how often your bilge pump runs. If you have a lot of bilge leaks and there is a constant flow of water going in/out (such as wooden boats), you may want to use the tablet every 1-2 weeks.

We have tried dishwasher tablets many years ago, not much luck at all. Not sure how your dishwasher tabs work for you but I would definitely try a comparison with the real deal.
