Rebate upon purchase and then a lifetime of problems. I actually want my electronics to work so I have avoided Raymarine since the last screwing.

Well I have provide a positive to your negative. I have had 4 different units and associated peripherals, the only one to go south was a very old CP300 which was replaced free of charge with a CP370. I don't want if is it is anything other than Raymarine or Furuno, every brand has had a bad day at some point in time.

Totally agree. The difference was that Raymarine left me holding the bag. After multiple attempts to fix a product under warranty and while it was still under warranty, they declined to repair it further. A lot more to the story but all bad on their part. I said never again. Since that Raymarine debacle, I have purchased in the neighborhood of $100K in electronics. All Furuno(except for a Simrad AP). In all these years, no real problems with any of the Furuno products and have learned their service is the best. My experience was bad products and bad people.

Raytheon was great stuff when it was built by JRC and rebranded. Not a fan anymore.

I personally think it has never been better, matter of fact all the brands have never been better, and realistically they are all the same these days. It is strictly a Ford vs Chevy thing now.
