Default Lane Snapper (Destin, FL)

Anybody have any luck catching Lane Snapper near Destin? I fished out of Dauphin Island Saturday and caught a few nice ones but I’ve fished out of Destin for 3-4 years now and have never caught any there.

Roger, every once in a while as by-catch when fishing for ARS.

They sure are a pretty fish right out of the water, aren't they ?

There's a few around, not enough to target. Nice by catch.

I catch them hear and there. Best luck with a 1-2 inch cigar plug (cut the head and tail off the cigar minnow and hide the hook). They are usually by-catch though.

I catch them once in a while too but I don't see how you can target them. I never see more than 1 or 2 on a spot when diving. They are outnumbered by 100:1 by snapper and trigger and eat the same bait...
