Is there anyone in the Houston area that could possibly look at a truck for me in the next week or 2? I live in Ohio and flew to San Antonio a few weeks ago to purchase a boat. Now Iím looking at diesel trucks down there to purchase and pull the boat back with. Iíd give some one 100$ if they were able to make that happen

I'm a little confused, as to whether the truck you are looking at is in Houston or San Antonio? I'm in Austin and travel to Corpus Christi through San Antonio regularly. My need trip is in a day or so. What do you want your volunteer helper to do?

I work with n Houston as a master electrician so I'm all over that place. I could possibly look at it for you but wouldn't accept any money. What exactly are you wanting to know about the truck? I'll be there tomorrow.

the current truck I am looking at is in Houston. But I am looking in San Antonio and Houston as the location of the boat is equal distance from both airports.

I just want to know that the discription and pictures accurately reflect the truck in real life, and if there is any rust underneath. I just donít want to fly out there in a week or two and be caught off guard with something. Iím still in negotiations so I havenít committed to anything yet. I will let you know. Thanks!

I'll check it out for you in the morning. I'll go through it. Gotta look for flooded vehicles down here right now. I'll check for that too. Take some pics and I'll send that info to you.

Its out now but supposedly leaking benzene. There was a shelter in place all day. I was working in Baytown during the fire. The smoke was not good to breath. Just like standing next to a fire with plastics in it. Now the whole area has a burned chemical smell to it. More than it normally does.

Man that would be great, feel free to take her for a spin if youíd like lol. Itís the one that has 98k miles. Iíve been pricing diesels out for the past few months and this one seems awfully low for the amount of miles. They are sticking to their guns on the price I will try again after it checks out, thanks! Phone is 440-622-2787 and my name is Rodney..... one more thing, what would you check for as far as flooding? How would you determine that?

I'm in Houston and can help but it sounds like you have it covered.

Best bet is to pull apart a couple of the wiring harness connections down low and look for corrosion, or pull up the carpet and insulation in the floor pans and look for signs of flooding there too.

Good luck!

Looking at the CarFax, it was in Gainsville, TX in July 2017. Gainsville is north of Dallas. Assume it was there during August as well, when Hurricane Harvey flooded us. It shouldn't have been a casualty of Hurricane Harvey. But to find flood damage, look under the carpet for dirt, and smell it. Check wiring for corrosion. Look in the air filter hosing and in the throttle body for rust or mud deposit.

I checked out the truck. It was is really good shape. IMO it looks like it was taken care of. The leather inside is in very good condition. Only a few small hole on armrest. Everything worked. Guages, climate control, lights, switches, power controls. The engine cranked with just a quick turn of key. Sounded like it was supposed to. There is some after market stuff on it. Airbag suspension that raises or lowers it. Only a couple of things that I saw. Some bad aftermarket wiring and a couple of spots behind front tires on fenders. Looks like they got bent a little. Same on both sides. Overall the truck is in great condition for the year. I was told all the cars here come from GMAC financing repos. I didn't get to drive it due to it being buried behind several vehicles. I cranked it and put it in forward and reverse. Engaged like it should. I opened several covers and pulled back carpetm. No signs of flooding. Hope this helps. If you're ever here and want to go fishing, get ahold of me.
