If the wind patterns hold it should be setup for some bite around Feb 5/6th. But then it is a matter of being able to get out there with the predicted winds. We have to get over all this wind pushing down from this polar vortex, let it start to push good nutrient water back in with no rains. Then we might see some action. It’ll hit on some week day when we all have to work.

Thats my current prediction.

We fished the west side Sunday with no luck. Only 2 boats in Venice caught anything to speak of all weekend.

I have a big trip Feb7th and 8th. Got burger, pittman, and Mexican gulf guys booked for a group of 8 guys. I'm hoping the bite comes around by then! Cuz I planned the trip, and if theres no bite they will blame me!

I’m no tuna whisperer but I study wind and currents daily almost. If it holds and and you can get out there. It should have pushed some goood water in by then.

Ill keep checking though for ya.

Thumbs up 1/28/19 east lumps report

we went out of pass christian to east lumps.
0-1ft waves.
simrad halo radar before sunlight .
sea hunt gamefish 30 with twin 300 yamaha .
we jigged, trolled, and chunked.
caught a few large amberjack with blue runners live bait on the bottom; it's too bad that they're out of season.
caught a few 8ft blacktip sharks which were fun; hundreds of these circled the boat for an hour.
caught too many to count jack crevelle which fought as hard as the sharks.
we didn't see any wahoo or tuna, but we had a fun trip.
next trip, we're going to ram powell to see if we can find my bucket list wahoo and YFT.

let me know if anyone else does well out there.
maybe hilton knows why tuna weren't there.

i shoulda been a weekend warrior

I would like to know if Wed/Th of this week if there is any action at the lump. Things might turn favorable. But Friday morning it is going to start blowing hard and screw things up again. All the models are showing it, which is pretty good sign it is going to happen.

Right now I'd say go out tomorrow and thursday only. Once it starts to blow it is blowing all into next week as far as the models go out. Next week right now is a blow out unless something changes for the following weekend.
