Default Pensacola Red Fish

I'm thinking about taking my teenage son down to Pensacola for the "Running of the Bulls".
I have fished all over but never there.

Looking for ramp info along with a decent hotel (that you would recommend) that's close to the ramp.

Looks like the 17th Avenue Boat Launch or the Bayou Texar Ramp are the best options.

Thanks.

The grand hotel is downtown, nice hotel plus lots of parking. Hockey arena is next door so might be something to look into as a plus to the trip. I would suggest shoreline over 17th, it can be busy. Shoreline is in gulf breeze. Just be careful, 3 mile bridge has all that construction going on, launchinh shoreline would keep you away from it all.

Thanks Keith.
I was kinda thinking that 17th might put me in closer to the fishing action.
Seeing how I don't know Sh1t about where that action is, putting in at Shoreline and grabbing a hotel on the beach would make sense.

Honestly the action can be anywhere. Shoreline is a closer shot to the pass though. Just keep an eye out for a wad of boats and thats where the reds are lol. Just east of shoreline is a good grass bed and to the south is the epa lab which is surrounded by good rubble. Sheephead should also be coming to the bridges now.

Depends on where you are cominh from?
17th Avenue ramp and MARRIOT COURTYARD or Marriot Residence are just a block away. Bridge construction is no issue.
If you want a more economical hotel just leave 17th and drive around the bay on Scenic Highway until you get to Interstate 10. There is a Quality Inn on the bay for $68. a nite. Easy drive over and back.
