Default (VENICE) Looking for experienced regular crew

I am looking for 2 or 3 people that want to offshore fish in Venice Louisiana 1-2 times a month "pending weather" and help with fuel expenses. I mainly fish Friday and Saturday, mostly overnight trips but always open to what the crew suggest. All fuel expenses are split between everyone on board at the pump, so no one is paying more than the trip actually cost. Must be experienced in offshore fishing or eager to learn and help out. I run a 32 regulator with new twin Suzuki 300s. EPIRB and spot are also aboard. It averages about 1.2 mpg, and just installed all new electronics and chirp system. I have all the reels, and tackle required including an LP electric reel. But you are welcome to bring your own if you would like. I appreciate you reading this and if you have any questions feel free to contact me.

May be able to help you out. Me and my buddy will be in limbo for a few months while waiting for his next boat. Very familiar with Venice area.

Sounds good that would be perfect. hopefully all is going well with the new boat. But in the mean while your welcome to come fish with me. I have only been in Venice for a year so far but have been pretty productive. My crew maybe goes once a month, so my goal is to be able to get out there more. And it would be nice to have someone familiar with the area. I will DM you my contact info and can talk further.

I primarily fish offshore solo, but would be willing to make a trip if you end up needing an extra person. Iím in the same situation with finding people to go on a regular basis.

I am ok with sharing costs as well.

Default Always down to meet new fishing buddies

I have my own CC that I fish outta Venice occasionally as well. I fish with acrz (Alex) on here too. I have a single outboard so Iím not able travel as far to the Tuna grounds. Have plenty of gear and gas money as well. I also have my own drone (mavic pro) that I use to make 4K videos as well. Also have a GoPro mounted on me at all times. Just ask Alex. Hit me up if need another person!!

I also have trouble finding a consistent crew for my boat as well

I have a fairly flexible schedule. Weekends are actually worse for me than weekdays. Decent amount of experience fishing tuna, wahoo, and bottom; slim to none on billfish. Not sure I could go 1-2 times per month, especially during hunting season, but I have gas money.

I would be interested too. I have two other friends that I fish with but, as usual, it is difficult to get everyone's schedules to line up with the weather patterns and life. I have all of my own gear, been duffing it own our own for about 4 or so years. I am sure at least one of them would be happy to join too whenever I am available. I'll PM you too.

If you guys are all on facebook we could create a private group and anytime someone is planning a trip they could post it and the people in the private group could respond. First come first served type of plan and then you control the people in the group so you only end up with legit people that have experience and are enjoyable to fish with. For me you can be less experienced but a fun person and win over someone who is an Ace but a pain in my ass...... Just a thought.

That sounds like a good idea. I have a page that I can modify to do that, or if you are creating one let us know what the name of it is.

PM sent to the OP. Guys agree with everyone. I have a solid short list and at least 10 guys I can call that actually fish offshore even with that I leave the dock with 4 or 5 people in a 36 boat. I think many of us and our go to fishing friends are in that stage of life when kids activities, family commitments and maybe work make it hard to get away as often as we'd like. Anyway, always looking to network, often have a spot or 2 open on my boat. As for the FB page, great idea we had a page a couple years ago called The Hull but it only had 23 members and never really took off, the sole purpose was to network and put together full crews. We need a Venice version of the Pine Belt Salties group that Keith and Josh created.

On the same topic, and don't laugh, my friends neighbor is a transplant from Oregon and spent most of his life commercial fishing and running charters on the Pacific coast. Anyway, he recently went and got a used 33or 34 Hydrosports w/ trip 250's. Anyway, he wants to start fishing Venice. I explained about to learning curve of just getting out and in all the passes and that he absolutely needs to have someone with him or buddy boat. Anyway, I'm gonna help him get going but I know he could always use some people experienced in the area. I'm gonna suggest he get on here and introduce himself and hopefully he can find some guys to fish with..

Iíve been wanting to fish Venice but donít have any friends that have the time or money. Hope you can count me in. Inquired about a charter this week but just canít charter a boat by myself. My common sense keeps getting in the way.
