What is this weeks shrimp boat report? Sounds like a few fish are being caught.

They are there, but it is early. Blackfin are plentiful, the Yellows are not right now. If you see one itll likely be big. The Bonita are like pirahnas, so ya better plan to have a LOT of bycatch! Good luck, and stay safe!

Went out today ready for some shrimp boat tuna action. Big fish have been hitting the dock all week. Headed out of Red Pass made live bait in WD and headed to the 117 block... and not a shrimp boat in sight. Hmm... kept going now coming up on 311 and nothing. Spin up radar to see what I canít see. Based on speed possible shrimp boat 10 miles east. Hammered down and ran to it. Pulled up to it and asked where are all the boats working? Reply: storm ran everyone in yesterday, we are just getting out and havenít dropped nets yet. So picked up a couple AJ, jigged up a couple BF, and pulled 9 dolphin out of a grass line. On the way in saw 3 shrimp boats headed out so maybe next time.

southwest of red pass @ 35 miles out plenty of boats working.... millions of small sharks. About 145 ft deep.
1 on bycatch, and 1 on live hardtail.

Damn! Bunch of cows taken out.

I was fishing Sunday morning and the wind was howling. You'll worked for them and bounced around for them!

I fished out there Saturday. They had about 30 different boats fishing the trawlers, only know of a couple Yellowfin brought in. It was shark city. Sunday was a different story, looks like they did pretty good. Congrats to all that caught em up. Its funny how things change in one day at the same location, I have always questioned that.

Not sure. I just think itís ridiculous to kill that many big tuna for a photo op. I heard esrlier this year that there are new regs coming for them next year. Hope thatís the case.
