Not at all. You see them more in the dirty rigs. Federal Gulf Coast season May 1-30, and the opens again for the month of August

X2. You do not have to make long runs to find them. We use to catch them in a 24ft Bay boat. They are defiantly hungry Right now. Capt Gray Long with Go Long Charters sent me these pictures about 2 weeks ago. They were hammering our Flat Sided Vertical Jigs.

Not always but usually out of Texas to get to keeper AJ's you have to get to 120+' of water to find them. That makes for a long run out of Texas, some ports 80+ miles. There are so many out of Sabine now, we target them with top waters. Huge blow ups, and lots of fun. Have several spots where they come to surface and follow the boat as it drifts.

I like these size for top water fun, we try to stay away from the really big ones

Thanks for the info. We are trying to plan a trip for Venice in May. Might try to find some AJs.
