Agree with above, Fairhope is a great little town, the Grand is unlike any hotel I had ever been to before, sitting on the bay, great spot to relax. Great mint juleps there as well.

Great place, but I think it is undergoing a major renovation. You may want to check and see if any of the amenities are currently down due to that. Don't eat at the restaurants (dinner). Wash House just a little south is very solid, Jesse's in Magnolia Springs is great as well. Several other restaurants in Fairhope are very good also.

Make sure you try the grits. They make them at the tire store in Fairhope. -- no shit really-- they are the best you have ever had. You can stop by the tire store and buy them. He grinds them on his own mill in the back. They cook them in a crock pot over night.

It is a neat place, for sure. We had friends from Tennessee attend a meeting at the Hotel a few years ago, so my wife and I drove up from Gulf Shores. It seems to have been undergoing restoration for quite some time, but it is a great location. Fairhope is nice place to visit, is a great place to walk and browse, and has lots of good places to eat.

It's a great place for a romantic get-away. The massages are pretty expensive. The female therapist that did mine was probably 6 feet tall and drop dead gorgeous. She spent a lot of time on my butt which was probably much nicer for me than her.

Any time I can help someone conjure up an image of my leathery old ass, I feel duty bound to do so.

Yes..undergoing renovation. You definitely don’t want one of the older rooms! When and where are you coming from?

Good time to come visit! Mari gras will be in full swing. I live on the eastern shore and we have our own parades. I don’t do the ones in Mobile. Google the schedule.

Fairhope is a great town. Plenty to see and do.
Sushi....Master Joes hands down
Surf and turf ... Tin Top in Bon Secour.
Burgers... Big Daddy’s.
Bar and restaurant.. McSharrys

Let me know if you need anything

Great hotel owned by the state employee pension fund of Alabama. Go for it.

We have its sister Marriott hotel across the lake from us ranked one of the best Marriotts. It has a 250 foot tower with a revolving restaurant in top.

If you want to ditch the misses....we can make a tuna run on the 31 Americat. If you want to take the misses let me know and we can take the BX 25 BR and run the inter coastal or bay.

I live a few miles away. The restaurants are being renovated and they have a makeshift tent setup by the pool. The food is marginal like sal said so no loss there. There are a small handful of newish restaurants around here that are pretty dern strong. The brunch at the hotel is pretty stout. If you play golf, bring the sticks. It's our home course. 36 holes. really nice setup. Great date weekend place.

Tin Top is down our way, and I think one of the best places to eat on the Gulf Coast. Soft shell crabs with Tasso is a great dish, and they have the best seafood-stuffed pork chops (with cranberry jezebel) I have ever eaten.
