Default Chandeleur Island Fishing in March?

Anybody ever been in March?

My wife keeps talking about going somewhere in March and I want to fish. How is it out there that time of the year?

Any opinions on who to fish with? I don't need first class but if I am going to sell the wife on this, it needs to be nice.

I only have my wife and I so that is another issue when trying to find a place that either doesn't have a minimum or a place that isn't wanting $8k for the two of us. I dont mind sharing a boat but I dont have anyone willing to go and would rather not be burdened with finding someone myself.

I have been on the Beachwater 2 a few times, both spring and fall trips. The bunks would not be suitable for a woman, unless you took the entire group: there are 4 bunks in each room and two bathrooms. It is a great trip, but I would imagine it will be hard to get a trip this close to your time; I am sure they fill up fast.

If the water is still cold, get reports as the fish will be deep not on the CHAN. Flats...IMO

DMJ Charters runs a nice operation. You can do a sign on trip where you join other folks that didnt have a full group. just pay for you and your wife. 2 day, 3 night trip

Those March fronts make it tough to get a good window of weather in.

If I was going in march, this would be the plan. There are a lot of good Chandeleur charters but Bourgeois Charters are a couple of levels above everyone else. You'll pay a little more but its worth every penny. IMO With all that said March can be hit or miss, as someone has already said its all about the water temp. Good luck and enjoy the fishing

its a so so time of year. As others said, wind and water temp may affect it. The marsh and the chadeleurs are better other months of the year. This year has been great up until this cold front with clear water and lots of fish.

Stay at the Casinos and fish Biloxi Marsh while your wife goes shopping and spends all your winnings...
