Default Recommend a gunsmith on the coast?

Not in a hurry (it's deer season so I figured they might be busy) but wanna get a trigger job on a rifle(s).

Within an hour of slidell, or anywhere on i-59 from meridian southward is about how far I'm willing to drive.

Shipping is not entirely out of the question, but I would much prefer to not ship if possible.

Who are people using and have good experiences with?

if it matters one is a m77 mkII and one is an a-bolt

I put the light spring below in my son's A bolt with excellent results. 5 minutes tops. No adjustments. They also have adjustible drop in triggers for both. Not a major deal to install at all. I have them on an 1903A3 Springfield and a 1909 Argentine Mauser.

Edit: No drop in trigger for the A bolt, just the spring kit.

I did a simple spring replacement in my A-bolt a couple years ago and the results were amazing. I think I paid $20 from Brownells. I put a Timney in my Remington 700 and it is great too. Wide trigger, ZERO creep, light pull, clean break... I think it was around $130

Yes indeed.

I looked at Trimney's website and you are correct. For the a-bolt you buy a kit with a couple springs for around $30.

For the m77 you buy a whole kit for like $130.

Makes me wonder if I might just come out ahead by selling the m77 and buying another a-bolt?

I called this guy a month or so ago. I ended up not needing him, but based on his reviews, the price quote he gave me and how dang nice he was on the phone, I'll go to him if I ever need anything.

Can't for the life of me remember his shops name (I should be ashamed) but there is a very well known (in St.Tammany atleast) smith in Slidell off of Fremeaux.
First name is Bill. Can get you the specifics in the A.M. if you're interested.

That's him.
He and my boss and bosses son are very good friends.
I haven't used home but everyone I know, who has, says that they were very pleased.
Think he finally retired from driving a school bus.

If you want, tell him the guys @ Accurate Edge highly recommended him

That's good to hear about Bill. He spent a lot of time on the phone talking to me and giving me info.

For about $14 plus shipping you can do it yourself. I haven't used the Ruger but I put a spring in an A-bolt and WOW what a difference. Took all of 5 minutes.
