The money spent was controlled by a tax payer funded organization with decisions made from our public funded organization. Seems strange to buy equipment and have the LDWF employees operate it and suddenly become specialists in hauling in monster tuna with the best equipment money can buy for 'sampling purposes'. Would seem better to have bought some longer term contracts with local guides that are already professionals with approved equipment that our agency doesn't need to maintain or worry about employees stealing.

Seems like LDWF put these folks in business, purposely or not.

I have not seen a prettier pink elephant since I took some LSD at an Alice Cooper concert two decades ago at the Warehouse club in New Orleans.

As to the actual issue, it is common practice for approvals to be rubber stamped by state supervisors. La. State Police had a little excursion to Las Vegas on the tax payers nickel and even charged us for overtime. Time sheets were simply rubber stamped and approved. The Superintendent "lost" his job over such conduct. Poor thing had to retire and is making nearly 150K in state retirement benefits, including a full insurance package.

Until there are real consequences, things will not change in the bayou state..

Strip the Fisheries Research decal off that bad boy and put Rollo's Ride on it and all would be right with the world.

Haha I'll second that! Jesus, what ever happened to being even somewhat frugal? Who needs a $300k boat to sample fish?

Louisiana is and has been the most politically corrupt state in the United States. None of this makes sense because it's Louisiana.

The state just awarded a flood grant contract worth $80M to a company that's been fired multiple times for similar work...not once but twice.

Not so, you can google public corruption and find it in every state. Public hanging would make those actors take note before attempting to steal from the bottom up.

Does anyone know the whereabouts of the catamaran I posted a few days ago(looks like a Freeman but with no name on it) fisheries research for LWFD? The pic was from 2013.

About two weeks ago, I saw a freeman with those research markings on it being towed north on Hwy 90 towards Lafayette. I was heading south, so don't know who was towing or where it was going...

Was that the 5-gallon reveal? I have to know what they want for their 5-gallon bucket...
