It was probably a planned illegal reef sink that went bad.
You see many 50-footers with registration numbers on the hull? I don't....

The bottom paint comes up pretty high and does not follow the water line. Definitely not well maintained. I am thinking scrapped in the Caribbean.

I was out in the gulf Sat. and saw it still on the beach. It is a single screw with a bow and stern thruster. Might have been a trawler. They say it is a 50 foot hull.

I got a good look at it Sat. The shaft comes out right under the stern thruster.

That wouldn't be the first boat I've heard of the coast guard shooting at and not sinking.. Good thing they're good at rescuing boats. They really should leave sinking boats to the navy haha

I've looked around this hull several times and I'd say someone was trying to sink it. All the through hulls are cut off and the hoses are all cut. Engines were removed. Looks like it had a little more floatation than they thought.

I would imagine the holes are from the original guy trying to sink it as a reef....
