Default Pirogue build

Hi guys. I'm fixing to have another pirogue build get together at my house the last weekend of Oct. It will be that Friday thru Sunday. It takes two days to build one. If one can not make that Friday, it will be no big deal. If you are interested in joining and building one for yourself, I need to know ASAP. Email me at prockvoan@yahoo.com.

Been doing somewhat ok. I did push myself building a pirogue for a raffle for my brother. This one has no nails at all in it with a few screws. All wood dowel. I had put a lot of time into this one and it is one if not the best I ever built.

Anyway, I'm holding a raffle to help raise moneys for my brother. He fought and beat cancer once 4 years ago. Well, it hit him again hard. Found out that he blew all his life saving the first time around. He can not work due to the heavy treatments that has been keeping him sick.

So, if anyone is interested in helping out, just email me.

Thanks Paul

Paul,
I just returned your pm but I want to clarify the dates. Is that Friday the 24th or Friday the 31th?

This one I'm raffling off is one of my best I ever built. There is no nails used at all with a few screws. Glue and wood peg built. I spent a ton of extra time building it. Sanded everything before building.

To me, this is a very fine pirogue and I been building them over 40 years.

For your read if you have spare time. Instructions on page 58 and 59 of this build.

Paul no worries. Take your time.

I'm traveling this week on business and I'll be gone the week of the pirogue build as well. When you feel up to lunch let us know. I'll drag Cody and pops out your way.

I want to thank each and everyone of y'all for the support, prays and best wishes. We were able to sell 720 tickets. This will help my brother out a lot being he hasn't been able to work the last few months. He did beat cancer once 4 years ago and we are praying he beats it again.

If there is anything I can do for anyone here, please feel free to call on me.

Thankyou all from the Rockvoan family.

Here is a video of the drawing.

Yes, a THTer did win the drawing. I'm still going to paul's in a little over a week to build another one.

Doing my final packing and prep to head out to Paul's for the weekend build. My son and I are really excited to do this. I suck at pics but I'm sure Paul will well document the weekend. Looking forward to meeting some of you folks.

Well, what a weekend! It was great to finally meet Paul and his family and all the folks down for the build. We worked hard with great instruction from Paul who buzzed around all weekend from build to build. We were all very grateful for the opportunity and all came away with a great boat. It was VERY easy to see the difference between what we built and the one that Paul had built for the raffle. My son and I came away with one pretty nice boat and a really nice boat. My older son wasn't able to make it but he wants to make the next build if he can.

Again, it was a great weekend with hospitality unmatched anywhere. Paul and his wife made everyone feel at home. A big thanks to Paul and his family.
