I am going to be taking a 10 year old fishing this weekend, and I was hoping to get some tips on good spots to bank fish in or around New Orleans. Any help is appreciated.

City Park is alright for some bass fishing. We used to frequent the area around the golf course and do pretty good with top water frogs through the grass.

Seabrook bridge has some ok bank fishing. The trick is to fish under the bridge and its required to get their early enough to claim a spot before the crowd gets there. For the most part its a peaceful group that all know each other. If you want to make friends quick offer the guys a drink when you open one for yourself. Energy bars go a long way also. I would only suggest this area to an average street savy guy. It might not be a good idea to venture here if you are a Mandeville yuppie sporting a rolex, dockers, polo shirt, loafers with tassles and a BMW. This is the spark plug for a fishing weight area.
