Default Need advice on a tuna charter out of Venice

I am looking to book a tuna trip on July 9th. I need any suggestions on a good guide to hire. I have had a bad experience in the past with a captain who wasn't the most friendly person you ever met, and looking to avoid that if possible. It will be the first tuna trip for the whole group of us, and I can't wait.

It would help if he has a record of catching a lot of tuna too! Thanks

Reel Peace if you don't need a big sport fisher... They fish out of 26 Cat's (Glacier Bay).

Default Capt Billy Wells or Capt Trey Pique

I have been on Capt Billy's Freeman 33 twice and enjoyed it each time. He produces lots of tuna with the occasional blue. Capt Trey Pique is a younger charter captain but very nice and produces lots of huge tuna. I caught 12 tuna and 6 AJ with Capt Trey Pique.

Hunter Caballero (504)610-1686 Paradise outfitters. You will not be disappointed. I have fished with him several times in years past on different boats and never been unhappy.

Capt Mike Ellis, Kevin Beach, or Billy Wells. Those three are simply the best, better than all the rest!! They all fish out of the 33Freeman, great ride with speed.

Capt. Josh Howard
We had a great experience. He runs a new 33 Freeman. He works hard to put you on the fish. Another thing that I liked is that the fuel was included in the price. That way you know exactly how much it is going to be without any surprises.

x2. You may be hard pressed to find an opening on such short notice. Most of these guys are booked well in advance, especially on weekend dates. You never know when a cancellation might come through.

Good luck.

like mike_s said that's on a saturday and you can forget finding a decent captain unless someone has a cancellation. Billy Wells doesn't fish on the weekends but if you offer to pay him double he might take you lol. you may be able to find someone with a saturday in august if you are lucky.
