Default Atchafalaya Basin

Anyone local to this area? Since the fish kills in Texas, thinking of dragging the bay boat to the Atchafalaya with the son and fishing. How easy is it to ruin a lower unit? Are there marked areas where you can safely run on plane? Is it less stumpy than Toledo Bend? Maps?

Where would you access or base your fishing trips out of? Will be fishing artificial, so don't need bait, just a good ramp and good access. Any resources you could think I needed to check out?

The Atchafalaya Basin is very muddy right now. It probably won’t clear up until after the spring floods. When the Atchafalaya is muddy, it also affects the marshes and bays in the central part of coastal Louisiana.

Send me a pm and I will do my best to either fish you and son or map out where you should fish.
you don’t need to go to the basin to catch fish.

I'll take you up on that, looks like we will wait until June though
