Default Destin boat beaching?

Have never brought the boat to Destin. I have read a few things about where to go and will definitely anchor at Crab Island. I was wondering about a spot to pull the boat up to a beach and get the chairs out for a while? Are there any spots besides the beaches adjacent to the pass?

Also, this is a wife trip and she doesn't fish, but can literally lounge on the boat all day. Could anyone tell me a couple of spots to soak some bait just to pass time. I usually can't sit around all day without tinkering a little. We will be sitting on the beach for a couple of days so another couple of days of just sitting on the boat will have me antsy! No serious fishing whatsoever just killing time. Thanks

There are also some beaches along the south side of the bay, there aren’t a lot of bad spots there really.

Are you talking about the stretch between FW and the bridge that is just north of 98?

More like between Crab Island and the channel leading to the 98 bridge.

There are usually a lot people beached at those islands up and down the intracoastal. We always went a little further down that where Ono pointed out, but to each their own. The one we went to was just a hair West of the airstrip due to it having deeper water on the southern side of it.

For the OP, be forewarned that despite the lack of any persons on or near the Gulf side beach (talking west of East Pass, south side of 98) there is a county ordinance about no boats within several hundred feet of shore. Sheriffs were kind enough to not give me a ticket that day, we were just the other side of the rock wall in about 12' of water a couple hundred feet off the beach just anchored/swimming.

As has been mentioned, Santa Rosa sounds. If its not a busy day then norreigo point inside the harbor is best place to beach. West side of east pass also works just south of bridge, but be careful with shallow water over there.
