Default Looking for home/property on Dauphin Island

If anyone knows of someone or hears someone talking about a property they are thinking of getting rid of on Dauphin Island please let me know. The wife and I are wanting to finally seal the deal and pick something up preferably on one of the canals or protected sound facing properties with a dock or where a dock and boat lift can be installed without too much trouble. Thanks in advanced for anything that pops up

Yep, those were the ones that were the most affected this time since the winds and water were offshore bound. Got a friend that lives down there and her power went out again because a line fell that is over water and they have to bring in a barge or a helicopter to restring it. Haven't heard from her today so don't know an ETA.

Stuart,
I have a few rentals on the Island. Mine on Mallard (canal) received very minor damage. I’m still able to rent Mallard—Good thinking on location.

West end house (per Adjuster’s est) needs 112k in repairs and will take a few months to rebuild. I’m also looking to purchase another house on the Island. Great place to live or invest in.

We almost pulled the trigger on the FSBO on Mallard and the family just closed on one on Bienville right in front of Malard. I love that strip right in there. Best case is I find another one right in that area!

I made the FSBO a full priced offer. She had lots of buyers that week...my luck. I was not the winning offer... It is a great street with Beach access just across the street.

Not surprised there one bit! We were only able to close on the Bienville house and Port Royal because we were the first offers on the table as soon as they were listed. One at full price the other full price plus! It's a crazy market right now for sure!

This one is listed already and is on Port Royal with a beautiful sunset view but difficult to dock a boat because it faces the sounds is wide open. We have a dock and fish cleaning station and lights that bring in the trout and reds at night right underneath you. It's updated and very comfortable. The second one that will start renting in Jan is on Bienville with the sounds and views of the Gulf but it's on a canal with it's own boat launch. We are in the process of painting, updating the interior, adding a lift, digging out the boat launch and making more usable and adding a deck, parking and a pool. I will post that one once it is finished being updated and listed.

Anyone tired of boarding up after storms let me know and I would love to have an opportunity to make an offer on your waterfront property on the island.

Y'all are going to spoil paradise with all this DI praise.

We really enjoy taking our bikes to DI. I just wish the sidewalk went all the way to the west end.

I agree with you and I'd pay it...the once or twice a year I drag the boat over.
they'd wind up having to add a couple more ferrys.

wait my friend. I have been looking all year. Be patient. Everyone is flush right now with record rentals, However, we are entering a serious recession/possible depression but most of the public have yet to feel the results and Covid 19 actually increased demand for boats and beach rentals as one of few things you can do during pandemic. Louisiana was particularly hard hit and they own a lot Dauphin island. The area you are looking in will be more difficult to find a really good deal but get the foreclosure app and keep an eye on it daily
