Gary, I truly hate it for you, done arguing over something that I got lucky on, and my boat survived as it was on the trailer and one tree stopped the other from crushing it. I hope everyone has learned not rely on the NWS to pinpoint the landfall, mother nature always wins.

Baldwin county schools were open on Monday so I guess they were as ill prepared as well. Im in the marine construction business and see first hand how much damage and sorrow comes from this. The last thing we need is a dick head spouting off about how we should have been more prepared. There are hundreds of boats destroyed and if yours wasn't one of them then good for you but to pile on someones misery says enough about you.

I really like the OBA it's part of my cruising area. that's a shame about the destruction most will get new improved vessels and homes w/ more wind resistance.

some mite come out ahead like buy you're own vessel (if in rebuildable condition) back from the inevitable insurance auction at a fraction of vessels real value.

when OBA gets the federal dissaster $ I hope they get this place back up and running in no time so you coastal folks can get back to the norm.

this slow storm has widened my respect of Mother nature awesome unpredictable power.

Yes sir you did. Do not lose sight of that.

EVERYONE could have always done more.

Trying to lecture someone at this time is not helpful.

We went through something similar in 2016. The community looked like a warzone for months. It's such a tough atmosphere and daily grind.... It does really help to take a break and get out for a little while if you can. We ran up to the blue ridge mountains. It was awesome and a much needed break for the whole family. Praying and hoping for the best and great days ahead.

It sucked but most of the stuff is rebuildable. I wish people would stop posting pictures of other people's property damage online for all to see. We've already had multiple cases of looters coming in and getting caught. Posting those images up when you have no relation to the property just lets anyone take a looksy at what is going on at someone else's house that they dont know.

wow that's a beautiful view of the bay you living the life minus this undesirable setback.

are any of those slips fore sale? dam that sucks having the vessel sit there like that especially w/ a crane being that close they'd probably upright her for free for a ride .

has the insurance given a estimate, that appears a total loss sold as a flood salvaged title vessel. you on facebook?

Insurance didn't want it. Just sold it. Hull is good so may be resurrected. Got a new ride Saturday. Being delivered next week.

Like they paid you for it but they didn't even haul it away to a yard for sale/auction? And you sold it yourself? Or maybe I'm misreading.

Damn impressive work there at San Roc.
