Default Oba august trolling

Plan on fishing a few weekends in a row in Orange Beach. Wanting to try to catch a billfish ( heard that whites show up then). Anyone have any pointers on areas ( nipple, spur etc) and what baits to troll?
Would like to try to catch some mahi as well. No problem to run 40-80 miles 1 way.

whites are usually sept/oct. Spur, nipple, 131, etc. If the water is moved in that close, go. If not, dont

Best things to catch in August in OB are Bushwhackers and Shade.

If the water is blended or blue anywhere past the edge you’ll get a shot. If it’s dirty or just green I wouldn’t waste the fuel, make sure you get a chlorophyll chart within 48hrs of when you plan to go. It was fishy today but no whites, wahoo and mahi where chewing at the nipple /131

no. It’s a spot that’s 131 fathoms deep. Search it up and you should be able to find some coordinates.

I was surprised that “nipple orange beach” search only produced fishing results.

The wahoo should still be in close at the spots mentioned above, even if the water is a bit dirty. Definitely can catch them in dirty water, just make sure you have one or two deep diving plugs in your spread.
