Default Pascagoula River Camp?

Can anyone tell me anything about owning a camp on the Pascagoula river?

I live over in Daphne, driven through the Pascagoula River area often on my way to NOLA buy never had a chance to explore. Iíve always thought itís a beautiful area though

Iím dreaming about having a camp on the water for spending weekends with my family and keeping my blackjack on a lift for easy access to the MS sound and GOM.

lots seems to be very cheap, makes me think that the area isnít ideal. Looking to learn more

any info is appreciated

i do not know where you are finding cheap lots, are you looking on east river or west river or up towards Cumbest Bluff.....lived here all my life camps that were 40k after katrina are now 180k......a 1 acre lot sold the other day on east river for 60k,although it did have a ramp......our family has camps at all 3 i mentioned, let me know what else you want to know....in moss point off of east river we are in the gulf in about 20 minutes, the weekend speed boats and jet skis are horrible but bearable....shoot me a PM if youd rather talk on the phone about it, I can show you around if youd like,by car or boat

well, i found one lot for about $60k. both homes and lots appear to be much cheaper than Mobile Bay and surrounding rivers

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/F...1700607_zpid/? lot

https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/8...10402629_zpid/ home

I may have to take you up on a tour of the area once we get more serious about finding something

The "camps" Stephen is talking about are much farther up the river. There is a reason the Gautier lot is empty. Has been since 2005.

but itís not that bad in that area. Hell the first link house is next to moss point which is way worse.

both lots arenít bad but that 2nd lot is near the train tracks and the lot is small. Not sure if that neighborhood has any codes though.

the first link is gautier just north of hucks cove, the second one if im not mistaken is 2-3 roads over from lake fire dept, which is very much in the hood. our store is just NE of this area at Jefferson and telephone.

I work in Moss Point and am on the water every chance I get. There is a reason I drive north 30 mins to live. Go take a tour of the area and you will see why.

Only thing I'll add to the OP is that you're correct. The Pascagoula river system is beautiful and it's a great combination of an amazing river and fast access to the GOM and barrier islands. There are lots of clusters of "camps." Everything from houses that you can easily drive your car to, to literal shacks built on tiny barges tied between two trees that you have to boat to. Would def be best to get someone to show you around by water, the system between the east and west river is pretty intricate until you get to know it.

Best of luck!!

Lake Ave house in Pascagoula is a great area and it doesn't get much better in Jackson County or gulf coast for that matter. I'm not sure where these other folks live that says its in the hood but they must live in million dollar gated community.... The only reason that house hasn't sold for 400-450K is the family kept all water front property with their other house on adjoining property.

Horn, I guess I must be mistaken about where this place is, I thought it was the house that was a few blocks from Lake Fire dept (which has had thefts) and alot of houses have plywood on the windows or window units about to fall out, cars on blocks etc.......my bad guys.....carry on,

my offer still stands to take the OP by land or water, hell even by air if you want to.

you are right. North Pascagoula st by the fire house and plywood mill is dumpy but down on lake ave and willow st is nice. There isnít hardly anywhere anymore that you canít drive a block or two and run into a shitty spot. Govít at work for you. I have a camp out on grand bature rd next to point o pines. Itís starting to come back with some new camps. Going to be nice again someday
