Default Cobia

The woman and I finally caught a decent one out of GI yesterday. Dumb luck. Decided to set up a rod and set it in the rod holder while free lining for Mangroves.

I would say that is more than a decent cobia.

Didn’t feel like buying live bait for the mangroves so we used cut Pogies we had left over from Saturday. The Cobia took a cut pogie with a 7/0 circle hook just below the middle of the water column in 60’ of water. Figured we’d just hook some pain in the ass sharks with that setup but I was proved wrong.... thank the Lord.

That's also a great way to catch an African pompano if you find a rig that has some around it. Great catch!

I see the floor drain in the picture. Does it just drain into the bilge? That is the way mine was on my 22 Twin Vee. That caused my boat to sink in a severe rainstorm at my dock. I have since added thru-hulls out of the transom and have attached the hose from the floor drain to drain out the transom instead of into the bilge.

Negative. The deck drains run right out the back of the boat through "ping pong" scuppers. I haven't had any water issues yet. I just need to update my rear hatches and I'll be good to go.

Thanks. Wish I could do it more often.

6-8 from Caminada. We are going back down on the 10th once my shutdown is over.
